won the 2012 Junior 2 Division at this year's National SHAG Dance Championships. The competition is held over three nights in March. We have DVD's available for each night - Thur., Fri., & Sat. There are six divisions that compete, Jr. I, Jr.II, Non-Pro, Pro, Seniors & Masters. They basically dance there first round on Thur., second-round on Fri. and the Finalists from each division compete on Sat. for the Division Championships and Overall Championship. The DVD's for the individual nights sell for $50 each which includes shipping & handling. We unfortunately do not accept credit cards, but do take checks. Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo Ballet is performing parodies on classical ballet performances. They do it with tender grace and very complex elements which are the main features of ballerinas. But wait... there is not single woman in the troupe! They are all men! They started in 1974. Their tours in States and Canada made them very popular, newspapers started writing about them, they were invited to perform overseas and they became real dance phenomena. Their dance performances are really outstanding acts as men professionally perform most complex women’s roles. The performance is funny but not vulgar, as they respect ballet. They just laugh at bad performers, at stupidity and pride of prima-ballerinas and also at nuisance and standards we sometimes see in classical ballet. The dancers all have Russian nick-names: Svetlana Lofatkina or Lariska Dumbchenko that remind us of some popular stars. The dancers are huge, hairy and hilariously funny... But sometimes they are dancing even better that the ballerinas whom they laugh at.
