Little Hartley Music Contemporary Instrumental… with vocals
Arizona based Sherry Finzer blends classical flute with Pop, Jazz, World & New Age to create a sound hailed by reviewers as ‘deeply haunting’. Australian Fiona Joy is known for her mesmerizingly ballet-like piano performance & ethereal vocals.
Fiona Joy and Sherry Finzer met while attending the International ZMR Radio Awards in New Orleans where they decided their music was a perfect mix. Since then Fiona & Sherry have played on stages across the US and finally touring the East Coast of Australia in 2015.
Sherry’s sound is influenced by the genres of music she plays, the artists she collaborates with and the flutes she uses in the creation of her music. The sounds of wind instruments are mixed with Gregorian Chants, ethereal sounds and world instruments to create a relaxing experience that has earned her many international awards including her 2015 nomination in the Radio voted ZMR Awards for Best Instrumental Album.
In live performances, Sherry mixes electronic and ethnic flavors without breaking the sense of calm that characterize the distinct sound that has earned critical acclaim at the highest level. Sherry also uses Eastern scales and melodies to evoke an air of mystery and intrigue.
Fiona Joy’s evocative piano and ethereal vocals have earned many awards including her contribution of “Grace” to Winds of Samsara (Ricky Kej & Wouter Kellerman), an album that achieved notoriety reaching #1 on the Billboard charts and winning a GRAMMY® for Best New Age Album 2015. Recently, Fiona was Runner Up for Best Instrumental in the International Acoustic Music Awards, nominated alongside Pete Seeger for Best LIVE Performance in the Independent Music Awards, and ARIA Finalist 2008.
Concert reviewer Michael Diamond attended Fiona’s 2014 Throckmorton Theatre concert in San Francisco, writing “What I appreciated most was being able to listen and watch Fiona at the piano. The passion and elegance in her performance was breathtaking, as her flawless technique combined with pure emotional expression.”
