Review of Indian Wedding Expo 2023
Wearing on my favourite Indian Bollywood costume, I visited the Indian Wedding Expo of 2023. Along the sign I walked into the expo, the traditional arches with the flowers on have caught my eyes, the exquisite carves on the arches have taken me into a wonderful world. The right side of the arch is the religion statue of Hindu called “Genesh”, who is sitting on the throne, and a few huge bells are near the statue, similar as the gold bells on my bracelets and my gold earrings of the Indian temple that I’m wearing. A gold tall Hindo oil lamp and a huge pillar with the exquisite carves of elephant are next to the statute of “Genesh”. The flowers are placed as the circle and to surround the long oil lamp and the carpet which is in front of the “Genesh” statue. 2 elephants statues are on the barrier which is at the back of “Genesh” and a small statue is in front of “Genesh”. I remember David said Genesh is his favourite Indian God.
Walking to the boothes, a company is for Wedding & Event Design, Styling & Co-ordination. – “MINSIK.co”. “Indian Matrimonial” is for providing a very valuable matchmaking service in Australia and New Zealand. “Soul Mate Matrimonial” has similar services too. I stood in front of a company called “Luxe Wedding Colab Celebration & Beyond'', they have the wheel to spin to get the free gifts, first time I spinned the wheel, I got a lolly, then I did the second time, it was a free selfie photo, and I asked for more free gifts, so they let me choose the jewelry on their table… I’m sooo excited… and I got given a pair of gold rhinestones earrings, with the pearls at the bottom of the earrings!!! I can’t wait to show my David the earrings if he is here and sees this.
“JUTTIS SWAY” is for selling the traditional Indian shoes for weddings, it offers an exquisite range of handcrafted fine leather designs. Then I was attracted by plenty of jewelry from many shops in different names, fondle Admiringly, I started to ask for the prices of the jewelry and they are roughly $350 to $400 roughly.
“ENERGY AWAKENING – RECHARGE YOUR LIFE” caught my attention, a booth of awaking with the stones. “Heena By Dina” is for doing the tattoos for the brides’ hands, so does “Suprina’s Henna Tattoo”.
Walking close to “Indian Wedding Decorators”, they has a porcelain carved white arch pink flowers on, I feel like I am in a paradise. “GLUXE EVENTS” is also for making the arches with the red and pink, white roses too. “Madira Spirits” is made from pink rose to be the cocktails on the weddings. I’m getting extremely busy because I’m being grabbed by the owner to go into her booths, she has 2 booths with different names. It’s called OCCASSIO by Singh Events – Event Styling and Event Planning, one booth is with the colourful umbrellas on the wall inside the booth, and a rattan chair, another one is…wow a very very…beautiful square arch with plenty of white roses on, and the crystal lights hanging below the arch and with a lot of crystal chains hanging with the chiffon scarves… 2 gold and white carved chairs inside the arch and 2 big white oil lamps are in front of the square arch…
“Shahi Riwaaz” deal in Bridal Jewellry, Fashion Jewellery, Indian Jewelry and Kids Jewellery. “PEHNAVA by Shraddha Agarwal” sells Ethnic Jewelry & Clothing. “Minishaa Advani”, the owner is the fashion designer, she made of the clothing of her brand. Acrossing the many jewellery shops and the bridal clothing shops and a few arches, I stand in front of a company called “WHISKY HUB”, it is the largest collection of vodkas, whiskies and spirits from all over the world. I guess David will be excited if he is here and sees so many strong alcohols here.
The fashion shows of the bridals’ wedding dresses are one by one during the day. The fashion shows include the female Indian wedding dress gowns, and the men’s Indian wedding suits. The models are walking on the stage in the very sensual traditional Indian music. Besides the Indian wedding fashions, there are also the Indian Bollywood cabaret performances, even the kids dances performances on the stage, and a group modern dance with the gold Isis wings too, along with the free gifts sending after the questions and answers part about the Indian culture of the weddings. The big screen at the back slowly shows the 3D aerial view of the Indian wedding gowns on the model, from toes to head, from the back to the front…
There is a beautiful black limo car next to the stage, called “ENRIK LIMOUSINES”. The doors of the car can be lifted up, the design is so cool, and convenient for the bride and the bridegroom to come into the car and sit inside. Inside the limo car, a luxury and comfortable sofa along the whole car, with the gentle lights and the small fridges on both sides inside the car, makes the wedding even more class…and lifetime unforgettable.
Thanks for giving me this wonderful experience of the Indian wedding ceremonies. It was like a fairytale.

Australian ethnic diversity fashion was presented at the FOMA Fashion Festival 2023 in Sydney.
Australia is definitely one of the most diverse multicultural countries in the world with more than a quarter of its population born in the other countries. Ethnic diversity enriches Austalian life and makes it rich, bright, literally as well as figuratively.
We can often see people in their traditional outfits - from the countries like India, China, Philippines and Pacific Islands. Fashion designers who came to Australia from different countries create new clothing, including both traditional elements and modern fashion trends.
Fashion is always considered to be one perfect vehicle to showcase traditional and cultural motives from the rich heritage of emerging and established artists and designers. Textiles, colors, styles, shapes, silhouettes, embroidery, decorations - it all conveys the history of designs of the country where their roots come from.
A few years ago, Gandhi Creations presented a fashion show of young designers reflecting the Australian ethnic diversity. They called it FOMA - Fabrics of Multicultural Australia and running its show this year at the prestigious Cutaway Barangaroo hall on June 23. FOMA presented a vibrant fashion festival indeed. The event was very colorful, full of bright outfits and sensational music. It was more than a fashion show but a rich and beautiful festival with lots of things to see and touch.
This year the work of FOMA was presented by six international and four local fashion: from Israel, Morocco, Fiji, Peru with the support of the embassies of these countries.
There was also colorful musical entertainment for the guests. It took place at the Powerhouse Museum under the wing of the aircraft. We look forward to the next year show.

Sunshine Coast High Tea and Fashion Show NEW website images by ALI HASSAN
On Sunday 28 May, RizeUp's Founder & CEO, Nicolle Edwards, had the honour of being the keynote speaker at a wonderful event held at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast. Lynn White from @aureelegance hosted a fabulously fun high tea and fashion parade which resulted in just over $7K being raised.
Being a not-for-profit organisation can be both rewarding and challenging. One of the unique aspects is our complete reliance on the community's generosity to fund operations. Unlike for-profit businesses that generate revenue through sales or services, RizeUp Australia as a non-profit must actively seek support from individuals, corporations, and other organisations to sustain our mission and continue making a positive impact.
Our support of 12,935 families and 25,459 children would not have been possible without the committed lean-in of proactive individuals and corporates who see value in our work.
Quite simply, we depend on the goodwill and financial contributions of individuals and businesses that believe in our mission and want to contribute to our success.
Fundraising events are vital for RizeUp because not only do they financially support our operation, but they provide a terrific opportunity to drive awareness of domestic and family violence, create connections, and strengthen the commitment to the cause.
We recently gathered at the beautiful @thelakehousesunshinecoast along with Mayor Mark Jamieson, Atty Sheryll Gabutero, MP Robert Skelton and over 150 locals for an exquisite event that resulted in an incredible $7420 being raised!
Thank you to @lynn_white007 and all who joined for this beautiful event on the banks of the lake! If you’d like to support RizeUp, don't hesitate to get in touch with [email protected]
