Giorgio Armani Event ~ European Women in Business 2023
On the 28th of October I had the absolute pleasure of attending an intimate cocktail evening at the Giorgio Armani flagship boutique in Melbourne CBD! What a truly elegant and heart warming event showcasing the show stopping Fall Winter Collection. Discovering the world of Armani and immersing myself in the fashion, cuisine and culture was a truly monumental occasion! I absolutely adored the canapés inspired by the Armani Hotel. A culinary delight and an explosion of flavour tantalising my taste buds. There was a remarkable abundance of cocktails and a sophistication about the way they were served on silver trays. This remarkable event was in fact hosted and organised by the ‘European Women in Business’.
European Women in Business (EWIB) ‘brings professional women together to create networking connections and share in knowledge, experiences and resources within a variety of events conducive to European links or just sharing an interest in European culture’.
What a wonderful mix of women in the one room! Independence, passion and empowerment were topics strongly discussed and a sense of community ignited quickly!
EWIB was created by Janine Lum in Melbourne, 2010 ,with an explicit women’s focus on business and personal development. Janine is a phenomenal woman and truly has a passionate soul ! What an achievement to bring together business women interested in European culture and lifestyle. It’s amazing that premium fashion, lifestyle brands, beauty and business are discussed and explored in exclusive and elegant venues.
The network focuses on ‘enriching, educating and inspiring women by presenting high quality guest speakers as well as assisting those involved to forge new, mutually beneficial business relationships’.
Being at the Giorgio Armani event really encapsulated the importance of quality material and design within the fashion industry! What an incredible privilege to preview the new winter collection and be a part of a new era of fashion ! The collection was absolutely remarkable and the historical relevance behind the designer choices inspired passion and appreciation! The opera singer featured during the night, really filled the acoustic room with love, possibilities and joy!
Networking, passion, friendship and business all came into the mix at this incredible event! I encourage anyone in Melbourne to join in the next event to meet powerful, independent and inspirational women wanting to network and connect! Being a part of an elegant event, really elevates one’s mood and pushes the individual to challenge their lifestyle and dreams!
Le Oscars Red Carpet Charity & Beauty Pageant 2023NEW website photos: Chierchia Gerardo ,Fabio Segatori and Robert Wilson review: Cass Joy video: Chierchia Gerardo ,Fabio Segatori
On the 14th of October the 2023 Grand Le Oscars Red Carpet Gala was held at Melrose Place. ‘Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do unto me’ is the quote linked to the theme of the 6th Annual Le Oscars Charity and Beauty Pageant. The aim of this monumental red carpet gala is to raise money and awareness for Kababayans in the Philippines whilst involving multicultural communities in pageantry.
Maria Lourdes M Salcedo states ‘ My wish is for economic progress to be distributed more evenly and provide gainful work and livelihood for more Filipinos’. This is a beautiful wish and a worthy cause! Willy De Joya is the founder of Le’ Oscars Beauty Pageant and Charity inc. What’s truly incredible about the Le Oscars Charity Projects is that they commenced helping well before the covid pandemic started. The Charity projects included Paystas gift giving and feeding programs for kids and disadvantaged families.
Willy De Joya states ‘Let us all be proud, let us remain steadfast and United’ ! What an absolutely liberating and fresh perspective. This program ignites hopes and dreams !
This year's candidates were absolutely radiant, graceful and kind ! Watching Pinky, Anabee, Jinky, Cristine, Jenny and Theresa was uplifting, joyous and entertaining. Pinky Cadlaon joined this pageant because of her ‘deep desire to help those in need, especially in her beloved Philippines’ ! It’s truly so wonderful that the women competing are so charitable and caring! Anabelle Wolfe certainly had a delightful blend of friendliness , humour and bub lines. Her motivation to join the pageant came from her need to embark on a journey of personal growth. Jinky Christou actually started in the pageant in 2016 and her 2023 motive to join came from her belief that through Le Oscars Pageant, she could uncover the best version of herself. Christine Joy Muller's goal for this pageant was to have a positive impact on her Filipino community by supporting underprivileged children seeking education! This whole concept made me melt ! Jenny Vignogna has a heart brimming with compassion and desire to make a difference which certainly lines up with this Pageants mission statement! Theresa Marcos believes that there’s potential for even a small contribution to make a big difference.
I absolutely adored all candidates through the different elements of the night ! The costumes were absolutely phenomenal and the women should be commended on their uniqueness and creativity in terms of National costume! I was so blown away with the extravagant costumes, shimmering and blowing the audience away. The most unique element about the Le Oscars event was the fact that there were dancing breaks for the entire room to get involved with , which in essence was a true reflection of community spirit! I fell in love with the community, love and passion the organisers and candidates shared for the Le Oscars Pageant. The event was incredibly glamorous, full of life and happiness. Everywhere I looked, I saw smiles. In all my years of being in pageants and watching them I’ve never felt a connection stronger than that of a Filipino community. There was such a beautiful community feel in the room and the red carpet starting from the car park was truly fabulous!
The culinary experience was delightful with a three course meal and both a starter and extra fruit platter.
The highlights of the night for me were the dance routines , National costume and of course the crowning. I encourage Melbourne to support this grand event and dive into a world of community, family and passion! This was a truly memorable occasion and a wonderful charity pageant, making a difference.

The latest collection of fashion pieces featured in our magazine offers a unique and captivating blend of history, culture, and style. “Lombardy is the region where I was born and which I know perfectly. I like to select the most evocative places where I organize mine events, selecting historic villas, castles, relays, farmhouses, farmhouses or unusual locations.
I am very sentimental, I am passionate about my events, I like to take care of them step by step through all the steps necessary to make an event perfect with tested, effective and functional tools but above all with strict organization combined with a refined aesthetic.
I define myself as a perfectionist, eclectic, polite, and above all, creative. I love what I do.
This path has given me the opportunity to perfect myself in the world of fashion over the years. The combination of the two paths has allowed me, through my organizational philosophy, to be able to excel in this field in a professional way as well. We are a great, close-knit team with the aim of making this great event wonderful and unforgettable.
They are the plots that interest us and the firm knots that people tie together.
Maurizio Raneri, as artistic director of Milano Fashion, I have always lived my life directly through my personal and professional journey, also in the world of fashion.
During my journey, I was a photo model for Vogue Magazine, I have always been a sporty person, and for me it represented a mental as well as physical training, like the love for photography and the image which led me to have an experience thirty years in this sector.
Graphics and design are part of a world that has always fascinated me; this interest opened the doors of creativity and innovation to me.
My commercial nature and my knowledge of marketing and communication, which I have always recognized as a factor, have led my skills in the economic field to be a leader.
Returning to the world of fashion and beauty, with vast experience in many creative and working fields, they allowed me to support a professional environment to make this event perfect and unique, according to my philosophy, given that I consider myself a perfectionist.

Tequila Tacos + Tattoos Event NEW website photos by Elan Govan of Elan Photography review: Cass Joy
Tequila Tacos + Tattoos Event by Sacred Circus and By Natasha Wilton took place on 14th OF OCTOBER at Mejico Tequila Bar and Restaurant, Melbourne
special thanks: Saffy May and Natasha Wilton
On a vibrant and picturesque afternoon on October the 14th, Melbourne's Pink Alley was home to an extraordinary gathering that left a lasting mark on all who attended. "Tattoos Tequila and Tacos," a one-of-a-kind event, was hosted by Sacred Circus and Natasha Wilton, bringing together a community of creative souls at the captivating Mexico Tequila Bar and Restaurant. Honestly what a soulful event with bustling positive energy.
As attendees entered the venue, the Mexican-inspired decor immediately transported them to a world of colourful banners, Mexican decorations and a visual feast that beautifully encapsulated the essence of Mexico. The Chef certainly took us on a journey from the fresh markets of Mexico City to the bold and lush flavours found in the depths of the Yucatan. There was an abundance of market fresh food showcased through the afternoon. There was a lovely variety of sweet and savoury canapés. The culinary offerings were captivating, with mouthwatering Mexican-inspired canapés that tantalised the taste buds. Two complimentary cocktails added a generous touch, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the event.
The event's location at 1 Pink Alley was a perfect choice, seamlessly setting the stage for an unforgettable day. This venue was very modern and the environment created the perfect day party!
The festivities began at noon and continued until five allowing ample time for attendees to fully immerse themselves in the wealth of experiences that awaited. Professional photography and videography were on hand to capture every magical moment, ensuring that the memories created would be cherished long after the event had concluded. A beautiful goodie bag was also included in the ticket price with various sponsors!
One of the most enchanting and exciting aspects of the day was the live tattooing by Melbourne's talented artist, ‘ByShaylin’. As she worked her artistic magic, attendees marvelled at her skills and had the unique opportunity to get live tattoos for only $100, creating personalised souvenirs of the event.
The focus on fashion was evident throughout the day. We had the opportunity to purchase fashion rings, necklaces, and dresses, adding an exciting element of shopping and self-expression to the mix. This emphasis on fashion not only showcased unique and stylish items but also encouraged attendees to embrace their individual style.
Sacred Circus was actually born in the heart of Bali 2020 by Safiya May. This brand has evolved drastically over the years into a wardrobe wonderland. Their garments are carefully crafted in natural lux fabrics. This statement was so incredibly moving;
"I believe that beauty is not external, it is internal and when you feel beautiful you exude that energy to the world."
Their products are lovingly made by two small manufacturers that pride themselves in sustainable practices.I love that Sacred Circus are also very passionate about leaving a light footprint on mother nature.
Their brand has empowerment, sustainability and ethics at the centre of our heart. I absolutely fell in love with this concept and think it’s phenomenal that they use their brand to create community events for like minded people! This fashion creates communities ! How incredibly powerful and empowering.
Creative workshops provided a chance for attendees to explore their artistic side, with opportunities to try their hand at various crafts. The flower creating workshop was a particularly popular choice, allowing participants to design beautiful floral arrangements to either wear in their hair or on their wrist as a bracelet.
Entertainment was in no short supply, with Rosa Serret, an outstanding DJ, providing a soundtrack that kept the energy high and the crowd engaged. Fun interactive games, like "Pass the Parcel," were not only entertaining but also focused on making attendees feel special, adding to the sense of inclusivity and community. This was the most unique and fun game I’ve played at an event in over ten years !
Beyond the diverse offerings, what truly set this event apart was the sense of community and friendship that blossomed throughout the day. Everyone formed connections through shared interests, art, and the sheer enjoyment of the event. It was heartwarming to see how this gathering brought people together. Such a beautiful event that deserves commendations.
In conclusion, "Tattoos Tequila and Tacos" was a celebration of creativity, culture, and community that offered magical connections and experiences. With live tattoos, culinary delights, creative workshops, and engaging entertainment, it was an all-encompassing experience that left attendees with unforgettable memories and a sense of togetherness. This event, hosted by Sacred Circus and Natasha Wilton, showcased the power of shared experiences and connections within the heart of Melbourne and left everyone eagerly anticipating the next one.
Don’t miss out on next year's event ! You're in for a treat!
DIY or DIE Fashion Show with Fast Fashun at the National Wool Museum NEW website photos by Elan Govan of Elan Photography review: Amit Singh
DIY or DIE Fashion Show with Fast Fashun at the National Wool Museum for Geelong Design Week took place last Friday on 20th October 2023. The show highlighted the Exploration of the community-built House of Fast Fashun, made from clothing and textile waste, and then strutted your stuff on the catwalk, in your favorite locally made garment, fashion, and everything in between.
The Geelong Design Week fashion show incorporating fast fashun and textile waste was a thought-provoking and impactful event. It brought attention to the critical issue of textile waste in the fashion industry and demonstrated creative ways to address it.
The fashion show successfully conveyed a powerful message about the environmental impact of fast fashion and the importance of sustainable alternatives.
The designers/models showcased impressive creativity by repurposing textile waste into stunning and unique garments, highlighting the potential for upcycling and circular fashion.
The event emphasizes the need for inclusivity in the sustainable fashion movement, showing that eco-friendly fashion can be accessible to a wide range of consumers.
The fashion show likely served as an educational platform, increasing awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion and how individuals can make more responsible choices.
If there were collaborations with local business organizations these partnerships would have strengthened the event's impact and outreach.
The show was very creatively organised by the team, where models, designers or guests can pick any piece of clothes and design it into their own way and walk the ramp with all the models.
Some of the models and guest created a very jaw-dropping designs read the use of clothing and textile waste.
In summary, the Geelong Design fashion show with fast fashun and textile waste as its themes was a commendable effort to address a pressing issue in the fashion industry. It showcases the potential for positive change in the world of fashion by emphasizing sustainability and responsible consumption.
It encourages viewers to rethink their relationship with fast fashion and the concept likely showcases how art and fashion can be vehicles for social and environmental changes, blurring the lines between fashion and environment. A very innovative and compelling way to draw attention to the environmental impact of the fashion industry while encouraging creativity, community involvement, and sustainability.

Malcolm Paul: A Touch of Pink website photos and video by Fabio Segatori and Chierchia Gerardo review: Lylah McKenzie
Not only does Malcolm Paul have a beautiful mind when it comes to unique designs but he knows how to put on a show. A Touch Of Pink was to support Breast Cancer Network Australia, it was beautiful to see everyone turn up in both pink and blue to show support for both the men and women who are effected by Breast Cancer.
From start to finish this night was an absolute blast. As soon as you walked through the doors you were greeted by the Men of Dreams handing out raffle tickets for a gold coin donation, which was a great way to kick off this beautiful event. Ben Murphy was the host for the evening and a great one at that, making the crowd fill with laughter from the very beginning of the night. We got to hear a wonderful performance by the lovely Harriet Allcroft and Katie Underwood who really rallied up the crowd the the second half of the show.
With both Men and Women’s wear he does not disappoint, the tulle was used in so many unique ways, using the fabric to make the gowns have a unique silhouette to using it as a top layer with some beautiful embellishments, MalcolmPaul really knows how to manipulate fabrics to capture attention.
The kimonos for both men and women were bold and exciting, the men’s oversized kimonos were beautiful and the patterns on the designs were unique, accessorising with tulle around the neck to give the look more texture was a special touch, not the mention the beautiful head pieces that complimented the garments perfectly. The women’s gowns were a lot of fun, really getting to play with lots of different fabrics and colours. The kimonos showed bold patterns which were more colourful and feminine in comparison to the men’s which was a great way to show the diverse talent MalcolmPaul has. Some gowns trickled down the body, looking very elegant while others were more fierce and demanding attention which really kept the audiences engaged wondering what you’re going to see next.
The gold and black oversized puffer jacket worn was different from the rest of the collection showing MalcolmPaul has the creative ability to stray away from the lovely kimono for just a moment to show off this edgy look which really made a statement. It makes you look forward to seeing what he will do next and where his fashion will take him in the future.
