SECRET LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS NEW
last night Alex asked me to write about Secret Language of Flowers. As we all have very strong connection to plants and flowers as the crown, the most powerful expression of them, my memory about flowers started to coma back. I will tell you what information I received when we talked. Today in the morning I browsed the internet and my thoughts were confirmed. Anyway, I usually try not to look up certain information and wait till it comes to me - the answers to questions.
Flowers do talk. We can talk though flowers as Gods taught us to recognize this language. I remembered many things at once. I will try to structure them in a readable form. Long time ago Gods taught us how to communicate with flowers and through flowers. Flowers have straight and hidden messages like us: we say one thing but there are more behind the words. Gods taught us that every flower carries a message... I remembered my mom told me that carnations are the blood of the brave ones, the soldiers. They grow in fields on soil that was covered with blood. When I asked her did she know, she did not reply... She just said that the most beautiful carnation flowers grow on the soil covered with the blood from your heart. I also remembered that poets use flowers to describe feelings. We all remember the meaning and symbolism of each single flower, we use it sometimes unconsciously when we shop flowers for our loved ones.
We buy bright red roses when we are in love and feel romantic. We carry the flowers with less bio-energy when we are slightly in love: pink is the color of such flowers. Jealousy brings us yellow flowers - mainly roses. White is purity and we love this flowers at weddings etc. By the way as I mentioned the most powerful flower in love expression is rose of the most vivid bright red color. The deeper the desire the more burgundy the color is. Roses have the most powerful bio-energy fields among all flowers.
You can write a whole letter with a bunch of flowers if your partner is open enough to understand each flower in the bunch and decode each color symbolism. As I said there are straight messages in flowers. For example acacia means friendship, but there are also hidden ones. Hidden messages you cad read through the thought that was attached to the bunch of flowers given to you as often red rose might mean love - yes - but you should always read the message un-written that the person who gave you this flower attached to the gift: it can be doubt and fear. Be wise by reading the hidden as it is more important than straight.
I believe it is a beautiful way of saying something that can be suppressed by the morals and obligations of society.. as flowers are the words Earth herself speaks to us...

The language of flowers, sometimes called floriography, is a means of cryptological communication through the use or arrangement of flowers. Meaning has been attributed to flowers for thousands of years, and some form of floriography has been practiced in traditional cultures throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Plants and flowers are used as symbols in the Hebrew Bible—particularly of love and lovers in the Song of Songs,as an emblem for the Israelite people and for the coming Messiah and of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. In Western Culture, William Shakespeare ascribed emblematic meanings to flowers, especially in Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.
Interest in floriography soared in Victorian England and in the United States during the 19th century. Gifts of blooms, plants, and specific floral arrangements were used to send a coded message to the recipient, allowing the sender to express feelings which could not be spoken aloud in Victorian society. Armed with floral dictionaries, Victorians often exchanged small "talking bouquets", called nosegays or tussie-mussies, which could be worn or carried as a fashion accessory.

One of the most familiar of language of flower books is Routledge's edition illustrated by Kate Greenaway, The Language of Flowers. First published in 1884, it continues to be reprinted to this day.
In the United States the first appearance of the language of flowers in print, was in the writings of Constantine Samuel Rafinesque, a French-American naturalist, who wrote on-going features under the title "The School of Flora," from 1827 through 1828, in the weekly Saturday Evening Post and the monthly Casket; or Flowers of Literature, Wit, and Sentiment. These pieces contained the botanic, English, and French names of the plant, a description of the plant, an explanation of its Latin names, and the flower's emblematic meaning.
During its peak in America, the language of flowers attracted the attention of the most popular women writers and editors of the day. Sarah Josepha Hale, longtime editor of the Ladies' Magazine and co-editor of Godey's Lady's Book, edited Flora's Interpreter in 1832; it continued in print through the 1860s. Catharine H. Waterman Esling wrote a long poem titled, "The Language of Flowers" which first appeared in 1839 in her own language of flowers book, Flora's Lexicon. It continued in print through the 1860s. Lucy Hooper, an editor, novelist, poet, and playwright, included several of her flower poems in The Lady's Book of Flowers and Poetry, first published in 1841. Frances Sargent Osgood, a poet and friend of Edgar Allan Poe, first published The Poetry of Flowers and Flowers of Poetry in 1841, and it continued in print through the 1860s. Osgood also edited a special gift book, The Floral Offering, in 1847. Sarah Carter Edgarton Mayo, author of several flower books, was associate editor of the Universalist monthly, The Ladies' Repository in Boston from 1839 to 1842. Her book, The Flower Vase, was first published in 1844. She also edited the books Fables of Flora in 1844 and The Floral Fortune Teller in 1846. C. M. Kirtland is probably Caroline Matilda Kirkland, editor of the Union Magazine of Literature and Art from 1847 to 1851 and the Unitarian weekly, Christian Inquirer, from 1847 to 1852. First published in 1848, her Poetry of Flowers continued to be in print at least until 1886. One of the more comprehensive books, its 522 pages contain an extensive dictionary and numerous flower poems.[3]

Hanakotoba - is Japanese Language of Flowers. In this practice plants were given codes and passwords. Physiological effects and action under the color of the flowers, put into words the impressions of nature and the presence of thorns with the height of tall plants, flowers and garlands of flowers through the various types. Fall Leaves
For us super-organic gardeners - indeed for any gardener - leaves are one of the most beautiful and most powerful resources of all. Basically, the only difference between totally barren aggregate, such as pure silt, sand and clay, and rich fertile loam, is organic matter.
That's all. It is as simple as this. And leaves are 100% organic matter. With a high content of organic matter also come all the properties of rich fertile loam. Excellent moisture holding capacity; and from this, soil temperature equalization; also excellent nutrient holding capacity; a rich and varied fabric of invaluable soil biota - all the way from dew worms to nitrogen fixing bacteria and mycorrhyzal fungi; a wide range of natural 'fertilizers' from the decay products of the organic matter - comprising almost the whole spectrum of the 92 natural elements of the Earth, moreover, in exactly the right proportions as needed by plants ( - of course).
You see, the trees and shrubs which have made all those leaves, have taken up the simple elements of the Earth and have assembled them into the highly complex organic compounds of their leaves - and much enriched by the nitrogen the trees have - with the help of nitrogen fixing bacteria - obtained from the air. And then, in the fall, they shed their leaves in great numbers to decay, and enrich the soil with their highly complex organic compounds. In this manner, good 'ole Mother Nature has created all the rich and fertile loam of the Earth; all of it.
And rich fertile soil has spawned and maintained all of the Life which has arisen from it - including our kind and selves.
Most people will be a bit surprised to find out that a fundamental, and immensely vast and powerful law of the universe is behind all this. It is the law of Progressive Complexity which has driven the progressive complexity of our universe from the simple energy of its big bang birth, to its present-day astronomical complexity. Along the way its has also created and driven the evolution of biospheres - such as our's - and including the emergence and evolution of Life to progressively higher levels of complexity - such as our kind and selves - all over the universe.
And the same vast universal law drives the progressive complexity which has created trees in the first place - and the high organic complexity of their leaves. It is also the same law which we employ and use when we gather the leaves of fall and bring them into our gardens, to add to and increase the organic content and complexity of our garden soil. Be it known then that when gathering the leaves of fall and bringing them into our gardens, that we are working hand-in-hand with the most beautiful and the most powerful law of our universe itself.
So, go forth then and gather the leaves of fall and bring them home, to add to your garden and increase the complexity, fertility and friability of your soil to your hearts content - in full knowledge that you are working hand-in-hand with the cosmic law that has created the universe, Life, our Earth, its teeming biosphere - and eventually, our kind and selves.
Can one overdo it? Hardly. The richest fertile loam has about 10% organic content - which amounts to about 1/2 of its physical volume, and that is a lot of leaves.
