See the classic movie on the big screen, re-mastered to its original cinematic glory. Admit it, you know the words – and if you don’t there are song-sub-titles so EVERYONE can sing a-long! Sing-A-Long –A Sound of Music is an audience participation event where the host leads a vocal warm-up, gives a guide to the use of the interactive fun pack and accompanying actions and (with a little help from the audience) judges the Costume Parade - a highlight of the night that separates the die-hards from the dabblers!
An overwhelming force takes over, as delirious fans cheer on Julie Andrews, wolf-whistle Christopher Plummer, hiss the Baroness and boo the Nazis! Their last programs ever for Australia include some of the pieces which cemented their stellar reputation. Playing a famous collection of Stradivarius instruments, the Tokyo String Quartet will perform Schubert’s last, magnificent quartet and a masterpiece of late Beethoven, alongside the work written for them by Peter Sculthorpe, Bartók’s ultimate work in this genre – ‘The way he expressed himself through music is universal, that’s why his music has such power,’ adds Kazuhide Isomura.

The boys are bowling critics for six internationally with this recording – more than can be said for their beloved cricket team in the Ashes! Today's concert was marvelous - not even a quarter of a tone was misplayed - so rich the performance and so harmonically perfect the sound was. We listened to Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury) beautifully arranged for piano/violin and cello are by a young and talented Australian composer Nicholas Buc (who also kindly greeted us at the reception)
; the second music piece played was Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven - this piece performed by them that had more than 9mln hits of iTUNES. |
The boys from the Benaud Trio (Amir Farid - piano, Lachlan Bramble - violin, and Ewen Bramble - celloare) are back with a new recording Bohemian Rhapsody (by prestigious Melba Recording), and were celebrating it at The South Melbourne Town Hall today in the morning – where they recorded it.
Jeanne Pratt (Victorian of the Year) was be Guest of Honour and spoke at the reception. I am placing a link for those of you keen to buy the new CD Bohemian Rhapsody: . Eliza is saying: I ‘m really excited about my new clip ‘Without Words.’ It was shot really on an impulse and because of that I’m really proud of it. It’s simple. It was funny when we were shooting it we had a huge pack of cows that were looking at us the whole time. They kept us company. Thank you Jeremy Bowtell who shot it, produced it and edited it! So very talented.
