CASELLA WINE YELLOW TAIL

Grapes from Australia’s warm and cool-climate wine regions are blended for complexity and flavor to produce Yellow Tail The Reserve which is mainly exported overseas from Australia and is very hard to get.
Casella Wines is offering 2 or more bottles from their finely selected Reserve Collection to raffle and giveaway at all our monthly gatherings starting from May 2011. The PPR of one bottle is $60.00. Both Reserve and non-Reserve wines can be purchased for a special price much below RRP direct from our generous sponsor.

THE RESERVE PINOT GRIGIO
Delightfully fresh, zesty and elegant. This wine has lifted aromas of citrus fruits with delicate notes of green apples, pears and limes. The palate displays flavours of pineapple with subtle floral characters and fresh acidity to create a lingering, crisp finish.
THE RESERVE CHARDONNAY
A complex array of fragrant fruit aromas and attractive vanillin oak scents offer a great introduction to [yellow tail] Reserve Chardonnay. The palate is fresh and vibrant with melon, peach and tropical fruit flavours balanced with fine citrus acid and oak, which add to the overall complexity.
THE RESERVE MERLOT
The rich fruity nose of the blackberry combines with dark chocolate aromas with underlying nuances of sweet oak. The palate boasts layers of black cherry, vanilla and mocha which come together to produce a soft, velvety mouth feel. This seamless and well structured wine has good texture and well balanced tannins finishing with length and a touch of spice.
THE RESERVE SHIRAZ
Vibrant, ripe and generous – a drop that is big on flavour and deep in colour with an intense aroma. It has delicious concentrated cherry and blackberry flavours with hints of classic cracked pepper spice. These flavours are complimented by vanilla softness and well structured tannins.
THE RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON
yellow tail] Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon embodies the essence of all great Australian reds. Aromas of ripe, black cherries, mint and oak reward the senses while velvety smooth tannins provide excellent structure and length to this complex, elegant wine.

Whether you’re a wine buff or enjoy discovering new wines you can taste some of Victoria’s finest drops at Federation Square. Every second month the Fed Square Wine Showcase features a different Victorian wine region, offering visitors the chance to rub shoulders with the winemakers, enjoy the latest offerings from their cellar door and help judge the ‘People’s Choice’ for best wines.
Tickets are $25 and are available via ticketmaster.com.au (plus booking fee) or at the door.
n an Australian exclusive the official judging of the wine takes place live, allowing you to compare notes with the judges and learn what to look for when tasting and purchasing wine. Public judging of the wines is conducted in the The Edge, with the winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals announced on Thursday evening. Showcase winners then compete in the annual Fed Square Wine Awards, which caps off the season with a ‘Best of the Best’ showcase and awards ceremony in August.
Gests at the Fed Square Wine Showcase will also enjoy the smooth sounds of local jazz band, Peter Baylor Trio, and a tasting dish from participating restaurants.
