10/12/2011 short reviews by Natasha and Alex M Puss in Boots The cartoon is very exciting to watch: it is very dynamic and it has got good and familiar voices behind the screen: Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek so you have a feeling you are back in 90-s watching a Hollywood movie with spicy Spanish flavor. We all read the famous Puss in Boots fairy tale who was making poor people rich and fighting the mighty powers with brilliant mind tricks. Apparently the story originated in Spain where Puss in Boots is a national hero defending the weak and saving the world. We just did not understand what is it to do with Mother Goose and Three Magical Beans (the ones that grow so fast they reach the sky) - we had no idea, but we realized at one point that we are loosing it - with the complicated cartoon script and who is who and who is on what side - it was too much for our brain as we expected some straight forward and simple story about the smart Kitty, his Boots, Marquis Karabas, young and innocent princess, stupid and vulnerable Giant and some easily convinced and trusting king... But probably we were not prepared to all this story twists... and you and your children might like it..?
Ages of Love (Manuale D'Amore 3) Love is a feeling that suddenly hits you. It does not matter if it’s happy or sad, long-lasting or short-lived. It’s always worth living. We’d do anything for love. If you love really good Italian movies with that inner Fellini taste of life, ridiculous situations, unpredictable actions, beautiful women, psychiatrists, cheating husbands and wives, heart attacks, green crocodiles and men strangely behaving and falling in love like eagles and cats – go and watch it as it is a lot of fun. The gorgeous bunch of actors: Robert De Niro, Monica Bellucci, Carlo Verdone, Riccadro Scamarcio, Michele Placido and more in Ages of Love movie right from Italian Festival. The best movie we saw in the last month.
