The Iron Lady We had to use our Gold Class movie voucher as the expiry date was too close to the end of the month. We were not very enthusiastic about our own choice - The Iron Lady (the choice was too limited), but we were surprised as the cinema was pretty full. Margaret Thatcher character was genious interpreted by Meryl Streep - we even could not recognize her at the first glance - it was so well played. It was interesting to watch the work of GB Parliament ("welcome to the mad house!", "gentlemen, shall we join the ladies?"), how they made Margaret look like real leader, the fight for Falkland Island and the family life of The Iron Lady as she was named by the Soviets. The history is made by the winners - we all know that and it is hard to say what was true and was a pure imagination on the screen but we really enjoyed the movie and watching the strong character evolving out of a humble grocerer's daughter. Well done and it is 7 out of 10 from both of us! Rate: 9/10
We Bought a Zoo Again and again we do the same mistake - last days of expiry of Gold Class tickets and we go to see a random movie and we are not impressed. Scarlett and Matt are good as always but the rest of the movie is not: too long to the extend that you realize that some major characters are not pictured well enough and some were introduced unnecessarily - we wished it was much better... 20 seconds of courage - more like 2 hours from us and Whom do you love more - humans or animals? Hm? Rate: 6/10
The Women on the 6th Floor That was a great choice of a movie! At last! We are very keen on French movies in general and lots of them are excellent with just a fraction of a percent of those that could be disappointing. The Women on the 6th Floor is just a gem. Good selection of actors, perfect performance, well drawn story line with a strong message behind, a bit sentimental, a bit romantic, some comical situations, but always light and enjoyable..."It's my first room on my own. And I finally feel free..." Rate: 10/10
Melancholia It is very hard for us (Alex and myself) to talk about this movie. It would be a complicated discussion as a talk about Death or Rebirth. You would need to see it to decide for yourself what lessons you learnt and what needs to be done... And who lives as it was your last day? No one! Some of you might find it a total nonsense and would give this movie 2 stars but some of you might be fascinated by the script and the set up twists and would give it 5 out of 5. I would like to remain silent on this one as it is too emotional for both of us: Alex and myself - to speak about death and nothingness. Lillies of the valley were awesome though... Rate: 8/10
