Brick Burger Pop Up Experience Review By, Cassandra Van Zeyl
On the 2nd of September, I attended the ‘Brick Burger’ pop-up experience hosted by Undercover Roasters HQ on Victoria Street. If you're a lego enthusiast with a craving for creativity and a hearty appetite, look no further than the lego-themed night of fun, giggles and exploration. This culinary experience not only tantalises your taste buds but also takes you on an interactive journey through the world of lego.
Brick Burger is the perfect weekend adventure for any fans of the building classic! The pop-up menu features an enticing selection of mouth watering and eye-catching burgers, all with a brick-inspired twist! Different menu options are available including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free.
Immediately greeted by a vibrant and playful atmosphere. Lego bricks and minifigures adorn the walls, creating a nostalgic sense of wonder for fans of all ages. The pop-up space is designed to immerse you in a playful and exciting world of bricks. I loved the Lego themed chair as a main centrepiece. Each table had access to their own Lego collection and a placemat was actually a Lego board which was awesome. Let your imagination run wild and create your own brick designs in this experience.
Food should be fun, and Brick Burger has created a dining experience that truly reflects that. Let your inner child run wild as you devour the burger of your dreams, surrounded by the colourful and creative world of bricks. Seriously, this is an event to quickly jump on board before time runs out !
Brick Burger is the perfect destination for anyone looking for a playful and yummy dining adventure. Kids are also welcome and encouraged to get involved ! Tickets are available now for $47pp and include 1x burger/fries and 1x soft drink.
The burger itself is a visual marvel. Placed between two buns crafted to resemble oversized lego bricks, it's a towering structure of culinary art. What truly sets this burger apart, however, is the interactive lego experience that accompanies it. It's a fantastic way to bond with fellow lego enthusiasts while enjoying a mouthwatering meal.
Throughout your session you’ll be involved in an interactive experience where you’ll have an opportunity to win prizes whilst competing for the best lego masterpieces.
Whether you're a die-hard lego fan or just looking for a fun and delicious meal, this experience is a must do on the Melbourne bucket list. It combines the love of food with the joy of building, offering a memorable dining adventure that you won't soon forget.
Chocolate Tasting at Cacao About Town NEW website review and photography: Ren Torres and Theesa Torres
Chocolate Tasting is so much more than tasting chocolate!
It melts in your mouth, it’s gooey, it’s decadent, and it’s devilishly divine! Of course I’m talking about chocolate. Many of us have a love affair, slash fascination with this alluring sweet substance, but you’d be surprised to know how much more there is to one of the world’s most treasured foods.
Craft chocolate maker, certified chocolate taster and international awards judge, Finn Doyle from Cacao About Town (https://www.cacaoabouttown.com/) takes you into a journey ofunique and mindful chocolate tasting as part of the “Introduction to Chocolate Tasting” experience (https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/introduction-to-chocolate-tasting-tickets- 670079735527?aff=oddtdtcreator ). In this course, Finn explains how to savour and explore the flavours of chocolate - a process of melting, inhalation, exhalation, sniffing, snapping and breathing – much like that of a yoga class, it is very much a mindful experience. We learned the craft of chocolate and part of that craft centring around people and ethics – from farm to factory and bean to bar. Not only do you leave with a bar of chocolate (let’s face it, that’s why we went in the first place) but you leave with this sense of responsibility to inspire people to get behind the craft chocolate movement. GABS FESTIVAL OF BEER QUEENSLAND website review by Brett Styles photos: Brett Styles
Held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre the GABS Craft Beer Festival ran across two sessions to manage the large crowds of eager tasters. Tasting panels, competitions & voting for your favorite car5ft beer made up some of the days activities. Mountain Goat Cornhole created a fun game to pay with a bean bag toss to win great prizes. Silent disco had the floor full with dancers in space age headphones dancing to their own tune.
