The Dive is a survival thriller and an underwater twist of two sisters who went for diving in a remote location, where no one lives miles away. While they were in the water, one of the sisters got struck by a very heavy rock, which left her trapped 28 meters below the water. With a limited supply of oxygen and extremely cold temperatures, they both fought and came out of the situation.
The movie is directed and written by Maximilian Erlenwein with co-writer Joachim Heden, starring two very talented and amazing actors Louisa Krause and Sophie Lowe.
The film is shot very well, and the storyline is very engaging. It keeps our eyes on the screen and wondering what will happen next. It takes the audience on an adrenaline-pumping journey into the hearts of survival. From the very first frame, it grips your attention and doesn't let go until the credits roll. Expense is masterfully built and keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats as the movie moves toward the end. Both the actors add depth to the story making us genuinely care about them.

Genius and villainy: biographical drama “Caravaggio’s Shadow”
Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio (Riccardo Scamarcio), was distinguished not only by his artistic talent, but also by his violent temper.
The scandalous painter alarmed the church with the extreme realism of his canvases, became a heretic in the eyes of the Inquisition, and soon a murderer. In May 1606, Caravaggio's ball game goes wrong - in a scuffle, the artist kills a man and is declared an outlaw by Pope Paul V.
The painter flees from Rome to Naples, but falls into the field of interest of investigators - in addition to criminal affairs, the painting reformer insulted the Vatican with his disdain for religious canons: there was no holiness in the images of Christ - pure naturalism, Madonnas were copied from street courtesans, and he created biblical scenes, snatching texture from the simple life of the people.
The biographies of great artists through the power of cinema is a topic that hardly anyone would call in demand, for the most part it is additional (documentary serials and various types of reconstructions take on the entire burden; they do a good job, I must say)... but modernity stands its ground, continuing to reflect on the slippery question of genius and villainy - the lists of the morality police include not only pop icons like Michael Jackson, but also recognized masters of the brush (for example, Paul Gauguin has been remembered for many years for sexual promiscuity during his stay in Tahiti ). With the Italian Caravaggio, the situation is even more criminal: behind the creative dimension of the Baroque titan was the intolerable character of an inveterate sensualist, a regular in prisons and an asocial element who spent the last years of his life in exile. Caravaggio film, directed by Michele Placido, is a shadow because it brings into focus the dark side of Merisi’s creative activity.
About chiaroscuro, extreme realism and dramatic imagery of the canvases, consider the viewer to know everything, but what inner demons the artist struggled with, and whether he himself was a demon in the eyes of churchmen and prowling mercenaries is a subject of discussion taken into account by Placido’s biopic.
Caravaggio decorates cathedrals and private collections here not so often as he enters into squabbles and unwanted quarrels, and vice and the destructive passion for the flesh are shown with almost Pasolini-esque giddiness. “Caravaggio's Shadow” passes over artistic issues, focusing rather on existential ones: how the earth bears such geniuses who always have a dagger hidden in their belts, and behind the realism of majestic canvases there is a man of base passions. The film is convincing in the methodical way in which it dispels the ideal stipulated by the power of the pope and the Catholic institution. Caravaggio broke with the ostentatious holiness of painting, which conveyed religious meanings to the common masses - instead of idealistic images, the artist preferred naturalism and the dynamics of bodily forms. The saints in his paintings, like biblical figures, were found in squares and city slums, transformed by the power of his brush from beggars to apostles and chaste madonnas.
Even though the announced Riccardo Scamarcio can hardly cope with the role of a dangerous artist, the energy of the immortal Caravaggio is palpable in the fabric of the film - in the very aesthetics and tonality, stylized as the conventional “The Calling of the Apostle Matthew” or “Entombment”. In the acting department, for example, Louis Garrel looks much more decent in the role of a secret Vatican investigator or the cameo appearance of Isabelle Huppert in the image of the Marquise - some kind of move in the tedious flow of a historical drama.
It must be said that Caravaggio’s drama here is not historical in the full sense - at the right moment, Placido gives free rein to speculation and legends that lie in the field of research regarding the death of the artist. Where Caravaggio ignored myths and infallible dogmas of Catholicism in the name of reality, the film does the opposite - it puts myths about the fate of the creator at the forefront. In some places, perhaps, this is not at all harmful - the film is charged with the energy of a detective thriller, where the darling of fate is constantly being tracked down by the enraged Inquisition, led by the aforementioned handsome Garrel... but, perhaps, “Caravaggio's Shadow” was never able to say beyond that that any genius and reformer is necessarily socially dangerous. The fact that the creator needs to look into the abysses of hell in order to climb to the heights of beauty, in general, was clear from any encyclopedia about the titans of painting.
Overall, it is an ordinary costume drama about the creator of the Baroque era and the contradictions of talent. You should watch it on the big screen!

Damage movies directed by Madeleine Blackwell, featuring Ali Al Jenabi as Ali (Taxi driver) and Imelda Bourke as Esther Brown(the passenger). The movie is about the character Early who is a taxi driver who lives in NSW and is not a citizen of Australia he drives a taxi by using another man's license and depends on GPS to find the way,. Esther is an old lady passenger who doesn't remember where she is going clearly. Both the characters have gone through their own different life experiences or damages which she can't remember, and he can't forget.
The taxi driver takes the passenger towards Karangi Bay, to her daughter’s place from where she picks up the dog and brings him with her.
The movie shows Ali’s complex journey, struggles, and ethical dilemmas he faced while back in Iraq before coming to NSW as an asylum seeker. The movie is both engaging and empathetic as it explores the human side, as an island seeker and also an old lady who doesn't remember where she is going.
Both actors have done an excellent job and kept the movie very interesting. It's releasing on the 9th of November and I would highly recommend you to go and watch the movie as it sheds light on the struggles, sacrifices, and hopes of those who embark on different journeys in search of safety and a better life.

I rarely place much emphasis on awards won by films as I believe the judging process is subjective. “The Old Oak” however, having won a nomination for Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2023 and winner of Audience Award at the Locarno International Film Festival 2023 proves its own mettle in showcasing to the world that sheer gallantry of the human heart will overcome bigotry, hate, and racism.
The film revolves around a group of Syrian refugees who escaped the civil war in their country having to find themselves as refugees in England and taken to live in an impoverished town in the north. Downstairs of their community housing, The Old Oak is a local pub and the only last standing community gathering place for the local community. This pub has a rich history. It catered to the miners of old but lost its clientele with the demise of the mining industry. TJ who owns the pub is central to this story as he struggles to make ends meet yet gives all he can to help the Syrian refugees. This triggers xenophobic attitudes and backlash across the town, but the perseverance and generosity of TJ and a group of other volunteers merge the hearts and minds of the community to realise that we all bleed the same.
Every viewer would resonate with this film as the world we know of today, has evolved into one where migrants abound. We all know of someone who came from somewhere or someone who has moved elsewhere whether it was by their choice or not. And along with this comes acceptance, assimilation, friendship, fear, hope, discrimination and success, or failure.
I enjoyed watching every minute of this film. I rate “The Old Oak” a solid 10 out of 10 stars!

It's been a while since cinema has given us high-quality police thrillers, that are based not only on entertainment, but also on deep psychologism. If you miss such projects, then do not miss the Italian novelty 'The Last Night of Amore' 2023.
Amore... In Italian it means 'Love'. The surname of the main character of this film story is Amore and this is not an accident.
Love in this film is the true driving force, easily leading to madness and tragedy.
The main character is Franco Amore. He is an honest cop who is about to be eligible to retire after 35 years of service. All that remains is to work for a week, say goodbye to everyone and start a new life. A new life with his young beloved wife.
Despite the fact that Franco Amore himself is an honest policeman who has never shot at a person, he still does not shy away from small matters. A relative of his wife works in criminal circles, and he agrees to accompany him. In the end, representatives of the criminal world make him an offer - such an experienced police officer will be very useful as a security guard and carrier. They promise to pay a lot of money, the police work is almost completed, the wife is delighted with the material prospects. All his life, Franco Amore had not taken risks, and then he was offered to take a risk. Should he refuse?
Love... "I did this only for love", says the hero of the film and wr agree..? He agrees to a seemingly easy task - to meet a man with diamonds at the airport and take him to the appointed place.
Franco Amore has no rosy illusions and is well aware of the hidden danger in this trivial matter but at the end he goes after him and at the same time invites his policeman friend to help him.
It will end with a terrible shootout and death of several police officers and the main character will have to frantically figure out which of the current police officers is involved in this case, figure out who exactly set him up and decide his own fate. All this in just one night.
'The Last Night of Amore' is a tense thriller that invites you to plunge into the story of a risky case. It seems justified and easy until it turns into murderous and hopeless.
“They said you won’t shoot,” the main character hears as he takes the diamonds from the hands of his dying colleague and Franco Amore turns into a man who, having taken one risk, slammed the door of decades of an even past and the door of decades of a stable future behind him. The horror of the situation is aggravated by the fact that, as a policeman, he himself understands perfectly well that this tense evening will not turn into a happy ending for him in the style of Hollywood crime thrillers.

BRAND BOLLYWOOD DOWNUNDER is the story of the love-hate relationship between Bollywood and the globalization of Indian popular cinema with Australia, Spanning from 1897 to 2023. Delve beneath the colorful exterior of Hollywood’s biggest rival to discover the artistry, organized chaos, music, dance, politics, and unique characters that have led to Bollywood taking Australia by storm.
The movie features interviews with many Bollywood and Australian celebrities, directors, producers, and other team members associated with the film industry in both countries. The film takes us back to the birth of cinema in India when in 1913, Raja Harishchandra movie was directed and produced by Dada Saheb Phalke to today's marriage between the movie industry of both countries.
Indian cinema has always been about folk tales and storytelling to put into life. During the 1940s Indian movies played a big role in getting freedom from Britishers and reflected the Indian society on cinema. After independence, India started its trade policy with other countries and since then the Bollywood industry has grown exponentially.
The Indian and Australian cinema history started in 1913 when Mary Evans from Perth moved to Bombay and became an actress in Bollywood cinema with the on-screen name Nadia. In 1998 the first Bollywood movie was shot in Australia by director Firoz Khan, who launched his son Fardeen Khan in a movie called Prem Angan. After that many other big Bollywood hit movies were shot in various parts of Australia such as Dil Chahta Hai, Love Story 2015 in Adelaide South Australia, Hey Baby in NSW and Singh is King in Queensland.
However, like any other Indian Bollywood romantic story Australia and India's cinema industry has also gone through its love-and-hate relationship. The Bollywood cinema has not only got a Wider audience in Western countries but also received a huge spike in tourism, education, and other trade sectors. But due to attacks on Indian students in Australia especially in Victoria, the Bollywood industry boycotted Australia.

BRAND BOLLYWOOD DOWNUNDER is the story of the love-hate relationship between Bollywood and the globalization of Indian popular cinema with Australia, Spanning from 1897 to 2023. The film takes us back to the birth of cinema in India when in 1913, Raja Harishchandra movie was directed and produced by Dada Saheb Phalke to today's marriage between the movie industry of both countries.
Indian cinema has always been about folk tales and storytelling to put into life. During the 1940s Indian movies played a big role in getting freedom from Britishers and reflected the Indian society on cinema. After independence, India started its trade policy with other countries and since then the Bollywood industry has grown exponentially.
The Indian and Australian cinema history started in 1913 when Mary Evans from Perth moved to Bombay and became an actress in Bollywood cinema with the on-screen name Nadia. In 1998 the first Bollywood movie was shot in Australia by director Firoz Khan, who launched his son Fardeen Khan in a movie called Prem Angan. After that many other big Bollywood hit movies were shot in various parts of Australia such as Dil Chahta Hai, Love Story 2015 in Adelaide South Australia, Hey Baby in NSW and Singh is King in Queensland.
However, like any other Indian Bollywood romantic story Australia and India's cinema industry has also gone through its love-and-hate relationship. The Bollywood cinema has not only got a Wider audience in Western countries but also received a huge spike in tourism, education, and other trade sectors. But due to attacks on Indian students in Australia especially in Victoria, the Bollywood industry boycotted Australia.

Origin of evil
This is the type of film that has a ‘see it through’ aspect. It has a very slow start but if you stick with it it’s definitely worth the watch.
While the first hour focuses on getting to know the characters and the connections between them, at this stage there is not a lot of thriller that is involved. However this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the unsettling depths this film is about to dive into.
It does pick up in the second hour of the movie where many secrets start to slowly unravel themselves. The storyline and the small hints given start to make more sense overtime which become very thrilling, it has you sitting on the edge of of your seat especially in the last 10 minutes of the film.
Having some scenes with a split screen showing different character was a great way to show the different emotions in each character in a single scene, it made you feel almost as if you were there with them as a simple by stander.
Watching the character development was very intriguing. Starting off with an entitled rich family that seems to have it all and are not welcome to new comers but overtime they all become very dark and twisted. George Dumontet’s character (played by Doria Tillier) is a great example for this as throughout the entirety of the film she is very closed off and reserved, making you feel as if she is evil and just in it for the money, however as you see more of Serge Dumontet (played by Jacques Weber) become less of a helpless old man and more of a misogynistic Alpha-male, you understand that George was doing what she could to protect her family. She becomes more welcoming and much less of a control freak.
Overall this was a good film and although it started off slow it was great to see the progress throughout the movie.

Wealth follows Keith Gill as he becomes a pop star sensation in the world of youtube and social media.
This movie is brilliantly seamed together with a sprawling cast and an unlikely fascinating story in amongst the covid times. In the words of GameStop, ‘power to the players’ and Dumb Money is a game worth playing and a movie worth admission.
Seeing Game Stops' valuation soar whilst crushing the positions of professional hedge funds that had bet against it , is the most satisfying thing I’ve watched in years.

Money can buy you a fine dog but only love can make him wag his tail-Kinky Friedman
This statement summarises the movie OINK very well, which is directed by Mascha Halberstad. The movie revolves around the story of a nine-year-old called Babs who has a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Her birthday was coming and she wanted a small puppy as a birthday present; however, her dad was allergic to dogs so they could never have a dog inside or near their home.
One day Bab's grandpa returned from abroad and he stayed at their house. Babs’s mother and grandmother were not very happy with Grandpa's return however after seeing the Babs and grandfather relationship they were getting comfortable having Grandpa around.
On Babs’s birthday day, she was expecting a dog as a gift however her parents gave her the garden kit. The grandfather understood that she loved animals however she couldn't have a dog at her place, but Grandpa decided to take her to the farm and gift her a small piglet named Oink.'
Babs was really happy with Oink, however, they had to go through a puppy test so that Oink could stay at their home. As you say love is the universal language that can be understood by anyone, therefore Oink manages to pass the puppy test and stays with Babs at her place.
Grandpa was very helpful and taught Babs how to take care of Oink. However, the reality was something else. Grandpa was a butcher by profession, and what he was doing was preparing the Oink for the sausage competition.
Eventually, Babs and her whole family including her friend Tijn, came to know the reality of Grandpa and they followed him through to the sausage competition place. With the help of everyone they were able to save Oink, however, the grandpa was mad to win the competition and he used Oink’s poop sausage and was thrown out of the competition.
The Oink movie is very well executed and presented on the screen. The whole team has done a really commendable job. The movie keeps us very engaged and doesn't let us blink an eye. It's a very interesting story, and kids especially love it.
It also gives us the message about animal love and how we should not kill or eat them. The characters are designed very well, and this storytelling and the whole animation work are done incredibly great. In this summer holiday, we highly recommend you take your kids and family to watch this movie and teach your kids to love animals and not kill them to bring food to your table. This movie makes us think twice for the above quote: if it's right or wrong. Should we leave the culprit in law's hands or we should take revenge for revenge?
The Cost is a very intense story directed by great Australian director, Mathew Holmes and acted by Jordan and Damon. The movie revolves around the story of two main leads who are trying to take revenge from the man (Troy) who killed Aaron’s wife and David’s sister.
The movie takes you through some very hatred emotions, at the same time very vulnerable or empathetic emotions of a human being. While doing wrong, we usually forget in anger that it's wrong and we go on a bad path, however the inner good person from within us always tries to stop us from doing the wrong. Similar happens to Aaron, when after his 3 years of planning with his brother-in-law, David, to punishs and kills Troy, who raped and killed his wife. They want to take their anger out and are ready to avenge Troy for his deeds.
Though, Troy is already punished by the court and spent some years in jail, where he got raped several times. Time and circumstances mostly bring the changes to human beings and we see it when Troy has a chance to kill Aaron with the stone, however, he decides not to, as he wants to not harm anyone anymore .
The movie really depicts some deep and true human emotions, where sometimes we are confused like David or become strong-headed like Troy. It is a great piece of art and a must-watch feature film.
It is also a great teamwork, amazing direction by Mathew, and great screenplay by all the actors.

However, destiny had a plan, and this year, it revealed an opportunity to experience Armenia in a way I had never imagined – through the captivating lens of the Armenian Film Festival.
This unique cinematic voyage, illuminated by the work of Kev Orkian, took us on a breathtaking journey to the heart of Armenia, with its crown jewel, Mount Ararat, where the fabled Noah's Ark found its resting place, as recounted in the Torah.
Kev Orkian, a talented British-Armenian comedian known for his global performances, weaves his own personal dream into the fabric of this documentary – the dream of conquering Mount Ararat. If you are in front of me, I'm going to use you as my canvas to show my art -the line shows the emotion of every individual who has gone through a tough time or an artist who wants to showcase their talent to the world. Similarly, Stylebender is the story of a Nigerian-born immigrant who lives in New Zealand, Israel Adesanya. Stylebender, directed by Zoe McIntosh, is the story of an MMA fighter who has seen a lot of racism and bullying and decided to use that emotion as a shield of power.
He is a multifaceted character who is a fighter and dancer yet also very attached to his sensitive and vulnerable side. Israel's coach Eugene is the backbone of his career. Janet Redmond, his possibility manager (a type of psychologist) helped him bring his emotional and vulnerable side out and use it positively in his fights.
Israel’s life took us through the story of every other immigrant who left their own country and shifted to a new part of the world for a better life. These immigrants have to go through a lot in their lives while settling in the new country. It's a story of many other individuals who faced racism, rejections, bowling, and tough times while settling in the new place.
The film took us through the life of Israel from childhood till his MMA championship journey yet a controversial and powerful journey. Sometimes you forget about others' pain because we believe our pain is the biggest in the world. Likewise in the life of these fighters, they have to go through a lot of hatred and threats.
An unstoppable sadness came to Israel's life after the death of his training partner in a street fight. He was struggling internally and made a controversial social media statement which brought a lot of negativities in his career and also alienated him from Eugene. It took a lot of focus, blood, and sweat from Israel’s life to meet him UFC middleweight champion.
The film has managed to break through the preconceived notion of a male fighter who is supposed to be tough and rough but reminds us they are also human in the end and have their emotional tolls.
Israel's life is indeed an inspiration to many people around the globe. Israel teaches us how to hold the anger in our hearts and use it in our passion. He also inspires us to stay rooted and grounded with our family and background, yet forget to lose focus.
