WRESTLING QUEENS Les reines du ring NEW RATE: 8/10 website media movie preview - kind courtesy of AFFF and Ned&o
this movie is a total fun to watch if you are into physical comedies - this movie is the one for you! it is fake as it is very hard to imagine something like this happening in reality - yes, but it is funny-fake and it is soooo french with lots of world famous actors and actresses involved into it!
if you can imagine fat, clumsy, skinny , ridiculous women wrestling - i can see you laughing already!..but keep in mind how sport changed their lives forever: one of them finds the way to her son's heart, the other one finds the love of her life, then - the other makes the fatal changes to her life in one go: just saying it out loud: "I do not love you any more darling and I am leaving you!" - i am ok on my own and lots of other changes. may be it is not juts sport but more like finding yourself in your your life choices and finding your only one road....

BRIGHT DAYS AHEAD Les beaux jours NEW RATE: 8/10 website media movie preview - kind courtesy of AFFF and Ned&o
after the movie was over we went to a foye for drinks and movie discussion and the preview. I heard very different opinions on this one: very realistic, very natural, down to earth, not a fake movie. it is life itself and life situations when women are not happy inside their families they start looking outside for sexual relationship: how they forgive and accept men, the feminine part just shines through and the famous and talented actress is making the difference to this life common situation.
there was another opinion also that I heard: totally empty movie about nothing: hypo-sexuality is very unattractive. on my question when the person had sex last time i got the answer: 30 years ago which explains it all... I did not judge. I also said that some people are born to have many lovers, some - just a few, some are born devoted to their only one partner and some - are not born to have any lovers at all - you should not judge and you should look at it as diversity of life and accept it as the existing fact... it is not within our power to change god's divine plan and his grand patterns. it is more to live your life how you believe is right for you: happy and without guilt feelings.
I'd rather say: the movie is not excellent but it is good enough for entertainment with some funny moments . I also believe what ever the director wanted to say - he reached us, the right audience for his movie...

JUST A SIGH Le temps de l’aventure NEW RATE: 7/10 website pre-media movie preview - kind courtesy of AFFF and Ned&o
this was probably the strangest french movie i have ever seen in my life... there are more questions than answers there... is it really possible to fall in love in one second and to start understanding each other from the first word said or not even yet pronounced...she is the most unpredictable behaving woman i have ever seen and he is tender and quiet - i have noticed lots of french movies only eyes are "playing" - sometimes such quiet performance is more powerful than silence itself. she is indecisive, she lives by one moment; she can not tell her deepest secret. only this strange man she fell in love with on the train will know and he will understand... will the man she spent with 8 years forgive her? or is she going to see him ever again?.. do strangers meet again?... way too many questions and i was hopeless with this movie as it is there and the next minute is it vanished from your sight...the same way the strangers - appear and disappear... there is only one moment left - the one with deep sigh... one more note: the music selection in the movie is divine!

IT BOY 20 ans d’écart NEW RATE: 8/10 website pre-media movie preview - kind courtesy of AFFF and Ned&o
she is funny, beautiful and intelligent , he is... 20 years younger! does it matter for them? for him? for her? are there lies, are there relatives, friends, ex-es and all that jazz? who is judging whom? you totally switch on into this movie as it remind us own own love stories and mistakes and feelings... relationship is the most complicated aspect of life as it is you and your mirrors - all there is and how you see yourself through them... is she only playing or is she in love? is he serious about everything or he is too young to make decisions? would you like to find out? it is funny, it is sensual and it is about all of US!
our fashionista girls and models will love this movie IT BOY (20 ans d’écart aka 20 years apart - i think i guessed the french title right :) ) - it has got lots of funny episodes inside the fashion magazine office... :)
THE WOLF OF WALL STREET NEW RATE: 10/10
it is a pure adrenalin movie... this is right!-he is a criminal but you adore him,you want him to fall never! but there is no such word in where he is. this world eats him alive, it sucks him in like he sucks in the baking powder... and kills and destroys him as there is not anyone allowed to be rich in this world except those who run the show...
Leo is a genius in such roles. he is on his highest flight - winning it all and over in the world of cinema... it is not about the money it is about the Big Game, the playing with fire and it is about winning it over...
... to be continued by Alex...
1/ was really shocked about the stock market and how it operates, never thought that it was so crooked, fraud and dishonest (including the operations on the government level). it is more than revolting to watch people working there persuing only one aim: crazy money.
2. as to the main character: some of the movies are so boring to watch... - it is so exciting to watch the development of the main character growing, life shaping him. it is mainly about ONE MAN and his surroundings - fabulous to watch!
3. the movie is very dynamic - funny, dramatic - all different moments. i wanted to mention lots of special moments - like synchronicity with the blowing airplane that was supposed to take the rescued people home, the moment when the main hero understand that wealth is not everything - it will not protect his family nor it will protect him. there is another "crazy" moment of the main character getting back home totally stoned: the reality how he sees it in "his" world might totally differ what happens in objective reality - the situations can be totally drustic if you go on with your bad habits. there are more movie "moments" but I am not entitled to tell the whole story here...
4. there is one more warning though: sales technology! in the society of consumers that buy everything they see - they need it or not how easy it is to trick a believers' mind... they can sell you everything if the right buttons are pressed - you just need to know how to present the unneeded items for sale (the episode with the pen is magnificent!) - just need to remember that sales technique is different from genuine marketing!
5. i only think what would happen if the main hero did not divorce his first wife and he did not get married on that prostitute who dumped him the first moment he lost all his money
6. main character - he is smart beyond any level of intelligence - he is a chess-player taking into account all possible combinations fifty steps in advance: two or three situations - he is on the boat with FBI; he is in his daughter's bedroom with his wife refusing him in front of the security cameras; there is another moment when he makes $$$ on a penny stocks where everyone's asleep and many more scenes... is he a real wolf? is he a negative character? no, as you feel for him no matter how dishonest he acts. no one cares - the main thing is HE IS ALIVE, he is like everyone else - no angel and no devil - this IS LIFE, this IS REALITY! 7.overall: very powerful movie and brilliant actor! once again: proud of what and how Leo has performed! Masha said today in the car: if i was you, mum, there would be only two people i invited to your parties: Leo and Jeffrey Rush - they two would be only two reasons I would attend them!! :)

HER NEW RATE: 7.5/10
to be honest i expected much more from this movie following the synopsis. I little bit disappointed but as usual the trailer does not give you the full picture what to expect or more like it gives you some wrong view on what to expect.
the movie starts great: there is a young man who lives in a digital world - high technology, everything automated to the extend when you start thinking: 'lazy bastard, go and switch on this light yourself!',
digital or real life? - what works and what does not? is it flesh or our imagination? what is a dream and what is not? what is real and what is untouchable? do computers lie? can you fall in love with Scarlett Johansson's voice even if you knew she is in love with 643 other men and may be women :) . can invisible help us to enhance one broken reality or at least help us to understand ourselves? what do we miss in reality and how do we connect in both: real and digital world?
is it better to meet in person and see someone's eyes - exposed, in front of you, honest and easily readable, so there is no way to hide anywhere behind the screen or behind your fire-wall? - all data is there, all files are on the palm of one's hand, the passwords and the codes are known and reachable. some people find it difficult as you can read the people in front of you quicker and easier - their intentions, their true thoughts - everything!
it reminded Alex and myself how we started communicating and the screen was in front of us for two years, how we could be on the distance but still genuine and open to each other and the whole world, how we could read each other's thoughts and dreams..., we did not make ourselves better or worse; without pretending - just the way we were... and love came digitally first and then physically in the second place as a beautiful addition to the typing ghosts... so is it possible?..
to add a bit of bitterness in this honey: Joaquin Phoenix is a fantastic actor - sensitive, gentle and he performs beautifully with his eyes and facial expressions but at some stage (and it is totally not the actor's fault) you realise the movie takes too long...with some unwanted and long pauses and monologues and dialogues that would rather be good for the radio book reading than a movie.... unless the director was trying to achieve this effect: hearing but not seeing something (blank screen)... or even mute life sometimes... it is hard to judge because what ever was the intention the result did not impress too much...
our opinion: the movie worth seeing and people who are very much into mobiles and computers will adore the main idea which i do not want to fully disclose here...
DALLAS BYUERS CLUB NEW media preview - kind courtesy of Ned&Co and Pinnacle Films RATE 10/10
you can compare this movie with a bullet in your head or a Texas rodeo but not for the spectators of the show - but for the bull rider. don't look at the fact that the main character is a drug, alcohol and sex addict he is first of all a human: sharp and straight forward, he is a truth seeker.
i can relate to his condition as our family went through a similar journey having a young terminally ill, loving and lovable man in the house. the journey does take apart those who are happy to give up and who take it as a misfortune, but it shapes those the strongest, it straightens up your life and the lives of the people around you making their path purposeful. such people become like guns that shoot out truth only, they do not take bull-crap stories of fake terminal illness supporters and serial killers in the hospital wards.
did it worth a life of one person to show the truth to the others? may be... but i will tell you this jesus swears a lot.
the movie will be a painful reminder for some, an opening door with the light shining through the dark tunnel for the others, the eyes opening for many and shocking for the rest of you... sometimes you find your life purpose the hard way, but "hard" is not even the right word - it is just the way that helps you grow spiritually and discover your self without masks and fake covers. just one more note at the end of this review: people look after your selves and your health while you are young and never regret anything you have done in the past. what you do today is more important than yesterday mistakes.
Justin Bieber's Believe NEW media preview kind courtesy of HOPSCOTCH FILMS IN CINEMAS JANUARY 24-27 RATE: 8/10
I have to be honest with you - I thought JB was the person who did not need any of my attention till I watched this movie... I never even heard his songs... not because I am generally ignorant but because there is much more interesting music on the market and he is not the one and i am not 12 years old sensitive and lonely teenage-girl...
I had a feeling this movie will change my attitude to Justin and it turned to be true. He started singing and dancing since he was 3 years old - there are some old videos shown when he is in the car humming to himself some tunes. He plays guitar, percussion and piano. If he is not on stage (and he gave 160 concerts so far and he is only 19) he is in the studio writing a new song with his team, writing music and lyrics, all by himself, he stages his own shows, he directs his own video clips - no one tells him what to do - he is the core of what he is creating and loved him straight away not because his face is girly-pretty and he looks sexy - there is more to what young girls and some fans in him - he is extremely intelligent and talented beyond your expectations.he is light like a feather, he flies on stage when he dances. It is a life energy inside of him talking and you get taken by it. You dive inside his un-catch-able tunes and you can not get out of his music and his humble personality.
you might say: easy life... yes perhaps when you dont live it yourself everything seems easy. when this life is in your hands then n the troubles start... you climb up so high people just wait for you to fall down... this is when you start flying. what holds you up there? your belief that this is your way and nothing can bring you down. enemies go and only friends remain close to you. the ones who trust you the most, the ones who share your belief...
This movie , documentary is entertainment, Justin is an ultimate entertainment. he is a show that goes on and on and he is directing it. if you dont like him - do watch the movie, if you already do - dont watch it...why? listen how he talks about love and you will understand why. .. and there was something about his pants or was it about yours?..
Prediction: he will not be another Prince or another Michale Jackson for god sake, but he will be just Just-in Beiber, one talented and always gentle soul.
THE BOOK THIEF (BEST MOVIE OF THE MONTH - BY BRC) RATE 10/10
there are a couple of our thoughts
"tell me what your eyes tell you" "the day is pale, the world is hidden behind a cloud, the sun looks like a silver oyster"
1. you see everything from god's perspective (there is a voice of god behind the scenes). but you watch the movie also through the eyes of a child, Leisel and her friend Rudi. Leisel does not understand the adults' world: they are pretentious, they do not say the truth, they always hide something. There are things that you can do and things that you can not do. Children do not understand why. Their world slowly turns into fake world of lies and not genuine thoughts and actions. Adults wear masks, sometimes you can not read them through... there might be a big heart hidden under a rumbling thunderstorm character, but why hide? Why not to live now and keep pretending - life is too short to be someone else...
“The only thing worse than a boy who hates you: a boy that loves you.”
2. the movie structure is very nicely built: it is intriguing and it is very understandable at the same time - beautifully made plus excellent camera work that goes with you where you like it to be!
“I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
3. love to books (aka knowledge and education) is so strongly pictured you suddenly understand you start missing it here, in Australia. It is so common in Russia and Europe to be curious, and to know... and so sad to see the degrading generation in this part of the world..
“Like most misery, it started with apparent happiness.”
4. atmosphere of Germany 1939-1945 is pictured precisely and so believable from historical point of view. there are also, small details that are extremely realistic
“I am haunted by humans.” God (aka Death)
5. the actors' performances are excellent. As a matter of fact if you go to Jeffry Rush's movie 100& guaranteed it will be a fantastic movie but add to this all the other very strong characters, pictured and described so deeply )even smaller parts - like episode-ical Rosa, burgomaster's wife. just her eyes worth going to the movie...) “I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality. But what could I tell her about those things that she didn't already know? I wanted to explain that I am constantly overestimating and underestimating the human race-that rarely do I ever simply estimate it. I wanted to ask her how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant.”
6. we gave this movie 10 out of 10 and nominated it the best movie of the month not because we both cried watching it but because it triggers so many memories and it sounds so truthful and so indubitable like kid's eyes...
“She leaned down and looked at his lifeless face and Leisel kissed her best friend, Rudy Steiner, soft and true on his lips. He tasted dusty and sweet. He tasted like regret in the shadows of trees and in the glow of the anarchist's suit collection. She kissed him long and soft, and when she pulled herself away, she touched his mouth with her fingers...She did not say goodbye. She was incapable, and after a few more minutes at his side, she was able to tear herself from the ground. It amazes me what humans can do, even when streams are flowing down their faces and they stagger on...”
7. this movie is a poem so ART is it
“He was the crazy one who had painted himself black and defeated the world. She was the book thief without the words. Trust me, though, the words were on their way, and when they arrived, Liesel would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like rain.”
more beautiful quotes:
“A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting friendship.”
“Even death has a heart.”
“Usually we walk around constantly believing ourselves. "I'm okay" we say. "I'm alright". But sometimes the truth arrives on you and you can't get it off. That's when you realize that sometimes it isn't even an answer--it's a question. Even now, I wonder how much of my life is convinced.”
“A small but noteworthy note. I've seen so many young men over the years who think they're running at other young men. They are not. They are running at me.” Death
“If only she could be so oblivious again, to feel such love without knowing it, mistaking it for laughter. ”
“His soul sat up. It met me. Those kinds of souls always do - the best ones. The ones who rise up and say "I know who you are and I am ready. Not that I want to go, of course, but I will come." Those souls are always light because more of them have been put out. More of them have already found their way to other places.”
“Humans, if nothing else, have the good sense to die.”
“How about a kiss, Saumensch?" He stood waist-deep in the water for a few moments longer before climbing out and handing her the book. His pants clung to him, and he did not stop walking. In truth, I think he was afraid. Rudy Steiner was scared of the book thief's kiss. He must have longed for it so much. He must have loved her so incredibly hard. So hard that he would never ask for her lips again and would go to his grave without them.”
“The consequence of this is that I'm always finding humans at their best and worst. I see their ugly and their beauty, and I wonder how the same thing can be both. (Death)”
“I have to say that although it broke my heart, I was, and still am, glad I was there.”
“People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me it's quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spot blues. Murky darkness. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them.”
“Hair the color of lemons,'" Rudy read. His fingers touched the words. "You told him about me?" At first, Liesel could not talk. Perhaps it was the sudden bumpiness of love she felt for him. Or had she always loved him? It's likely. Restricted as she was from speaking, she wanted him to kiss her. She wanted him to drag her hand across and pull her over. It didn't matter where. Her mouth, her neck, her cheek. Her skin was empty for it, waiting. Years ago, when they'd raced on a muddy field, Rudy was a hastily assembled set of bones, with a jagged, rocky smile. In the trees this afternoon, he was a giver of bread and teddy bears. He was a triple Hitler Youth athletics champion. He was her best friend. And he was a month from his death. Of course I told him about you," Liesel said.”
“So much good, so much evil. Just add water.”
“Often I wish this would all be over, Liesel, but then somehow you do something like walk down the basement steps with a snowman in your hands.”
“One was a book thief. The other stole the sky.”
“Of course, I'm being rude. I'm spoiling the ending, not only of the entire book, but of this particular piece of it. I have given you two events in advance, because I don't have much interest in building mystery. Mystery bores me. It chores me. I know what happens and so do you. It's the machinations that wheel us there that aggravate, perplex, interest, and astound me. There are many things to think of. There is much story.
“A SMALL PIECE OF TRUTH I do not carry a sickle or scythe. I only wear a hooded black robe when it's cold. And I don't have those skull-like facial features you seem to enjoy pinning on me from a distance. You want to know what I truly look like? I'll help you out. Find yourself a mirror while I continue.” Death (aka God)
“Please believe me when I tell you that I picked up each soul that day as if it were newly born. I even kissed a few weary, poisoned cheeks. I listened to their last, gasping cries. Their vanishing words. I watched their love visions and freed them from their fear.”
THE HOBBIT: The Desolation Of Smaug RATE: 10/10

PETER GREENAWAY MOVIES
just some thoughts after watching peter greenaway's movies...
when you rate peter greenaway movies i guess they should be rated only compared to peter greenaway movies - something like this... was this movie better than his other ones?.. yes/no/maybe etc - as there is no one close to him in art of cinematography /currently/... my rating is absolute though... / hopefully it's objective too. so i choose not to rate his movies at all.
wow - and i am getting more of peter g tomorrow! i guess this: when you create something in art be it theater, music or poetry, you should not diminish yourself, should not follow the fashion trends and should not invent - just be yourself - pure love - and put yourself on the same shelf with the timeless giants like shakespeare, salvador dali , both tarkovskis, rembrandt, llorka, sokurov, jun miyake , pina etc etc or, for god sake woody allen... only this way - connecting to these genius' archetypes and being one with them looking at your self as nothing less nothing more - you will be heard and self-expressed to the fullest enjoying your path here in 3D, on earth... "i always pretended to be a genius and i became one" unless you choose to remain silent which is also the way. written inspired by prospero's books - 24 books of the universe why did i say this? simply because peter is placing himself on the same level with art geniuses he creates his masterpieces with and about and he is nor afraid of it.. .apparently it works well...

THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY RATE: 8/10
you should not expect this movie to take off to the coolest parts very quickly... be patient, be patient, be very patient... 20 minutes pass and if you thought: no, nothing will happen - it is another plain , two dimensional something, you will be completely wrong! he is shy and closed office worker (yes/no/maybe) - MAYBE , maybe he is hiding something , he is waiting for the right moment to run away ~
he is out there skateboarding through Iceland and the music is breathtaking! he is out there - taking risks and diving in the ice waters, getting saved from the jaws, he steps outside his comfort zone not to prove anything to anyone, because there is no one else to prove it to but himself. there are no walls anymore - there are lush landscapes with the mountains to die for, the fresh air to live for... the climax of his journey is reached and his beard (the symbol of his manliness) is grown out and the beard is gray as it is covered with ice... and there is a moment of stillness - he found what he was looking for. he meets the photographer he was chasing for - and this is the moment to remember... Sean might be the best photographer in the whole world - he takes photos for LIFE magazine... But nothing is taken... There is an important life message Walter receives at the top and at the edge of the cliff: "sometimes you wait for such moment for your whole life - but not for the picture to be taken so the whole world will see it wide exposed. Some moments you share with only one person - they should remain with you, inside of you..." As this moment is revealed... the puzzle gets in place, get assembled together as it happens in real life - and it happens all the time: everything is completed and achieved - self-realisation is the mountain top. Now you just wait for the bonuses to come into your life now: true love, true balance and well deserved soul peace....
Loved the movie absolutely and entirely! Don't believe anyone when they say it was primitive and simple! They just envy Walter! The movie is great! To add to my review: AWESOME SOUNDTRACK that matches the character's moods and emotions, the nature's spectacular pictures of beauty!!!... and Ben Stiller is amazing! So simple and so deep...
ENOUGH SAID RATE; 8/10 as usual - a couple of thoughts: 1. very good psychological, helpful and grounded movie. it is not said anywhere that the movie is based on a true story but there are so many situations like this in life each of us would recall easily. 2. there is one very important issue that is discussed: our ex-es. considering the nasty statistics this problem exists everywhere, starting from: such matters of how would you describe your relationship with your ex to your current lover and if this would it be needed at all... there are lots of aspects in ex-es problems including kids.(as a materialised love with your ex-husband or wife) the movie gives us one more chance to watch these problems from different angles and see different aspects of such situations. 3. there are not that many really good movies about relationship. most of them are fake, plain,, hollywood type and hardly imaginable if not to say primitive. this film we would call rather mature and natural in its core 4. this is not a comedy, but there are lots of "Seinfeld" type of humor. example: asking to low the music down in the restaurant when you can not even hear yourself speaking... and what you get as a reply to your question. we all have been there... 5. the influence of someone else's opinion on certain situation or on a particular person. how these views influence you and change you if you are weak enough not to build your own. very often we listen our mothers, our work colleagues or even our partner's ex-es. your dear relationship can be poisoned or even destroyed by someone else. let's tend not to hear what the others say about your friends or lovers and let's build our own point of view. we all should be mature enough to detach ourselves from others' opinions and be independent in our attitude and in our relation to our close ones. 6. sometime slightly changing your behaviour and your attitude can change your life flow: you either continue to carry a heavy weight up the stairs to the top and all by yourself or one day you just ask someone to help you and you will be surprised how many people will reply to your call... changing the world must be very easy if you know your self well enough. we are all connected, we are all mirrors of each other - let's remember this... there is a small part of the puzzle that gets changed and as a result it can make the while picture different and make you free from negativity. only you, yourself make is in power to make this step to change. 7. there are good looking people and there are good personality people - they are charming... kindness makes a big difference. 8. beautiful story of love and relationship when they are in a "baby state", when they just get born... you can see the rainbows sparkling between two people... such a beautiful picture of love creation to watch...
