Let’s talk about the dirty little lies that add up to "The Big Fat Lie"...
Dirty Little Lie #1
I like to call it the miracle sham lie: That somewhere out there, someone has invented a magic bullet, like a miracle chocolate shake or a miracle herb, that could help you to burn fat while you sleep. And the next miracle breakthrough that is just waiting to be discovered is the gullible and ignorant lie.
Dirty Little Lie #2
I call it the lie of needs. "I need stimulants, I need diet pills, I need diet drugs, I need herbal capsules, I need cellulite lotions, chelated mineral gum, I need body wraps, I need hot pepper rubs, I need miracle potions and very strong laxatives!"
What is the reality?
The reality is that miracle substances at best are an unnatural crutch, and at worst, they are dangerous. We weren’t made to become addicted to some drug, whether it’s prescribed or a so-called natural miracle supplement. Look around us at the dismal failures of lost health and greater weight gain from such foolish so-called miracle and magic bullet band-aids and products of the weight loss industry.
Dirty Little Lie #3
The lie of evasion. It goes like this: "I don’
t have any energy. I’m just too tired to exercise and change my diet, and I just get sicker every
time. I’ll hurt myself if I exercise. Even my doctor told me to be more careful and to watch what
I do. I get dizzy when I walk. "Who knows the injury I could cause myself if I were to actually go out
and begin walking?".
What’s the reality?
The reality is:
What your doctor really knows and has shared with you, is that you’ll only get more energy and balance
if you exercise faithfully and correctly. You just need to go about it sensibly. You see, exercise is
not the opposite of energy; exercise IS energy. It
brings you greater energy. The more you do, the more energy you have, the less you do, the less you
are capable of doing.
Dirty Little Lie #4
I call it the "Join
the Club Lie". You see, somewhere out there, someone has created an easy system that will
take over the responsibility for controlling my weight. There’s a fitness club and then a numerical
system. There’s a weigh-in session, an emotional support group, there are high-priced frozen weight-loss
dishes, a fad diet, a type of mono-food fasting, calorie counting, a so-called ‘simple system' I
can spend money on and work diligently at, with the others in the group, to make myself thin.
What do I do know?
It's time to get real. It's time to go back to
nature. It's time to cut the processed foods, to start eating from nature's table, to drink water,
to get out in the sunshine, to do a little regular light exercise and to STOP
looking for miracles.
Pure Life Force
Whole foods are the best way to get nutrient density into the human body.
“There is always a best way of doing everything.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Among thethousands of different whole foodsour world provides, each contain most of the nutrients our bodies need. This means that you could choose just one wholefood and go on a mono-diet for an extended period of time and get all the nutrition you need from that single food.
Whole Foods are the Most Nutrient Dense Nutrient density is a measure of the amount of nutrients a food contains in comparison to the number of calories. Nutritional electrical frequency that the cells can recognise is what's important not calories. Whole foods from nature's table are pure life-force. Byeating whole foods, you’ll get all the essential nutrients that you need for vibrant health, including vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids, fiber and more - without the empty calories. Foodless foods and lifeless drinks eventually lead to disease.
The Healthiest Foods are Whole Foods The healthiest foods are whole foods complete with all their rich natural endowment of nutrients. They have not been highly processed nor do they contain synthetic, artificial or irradiated ingredients. The ultimate way to obtain maximum nutrition is to buy “earth friendly grown” foods, since they not only promote your health, but also the health of our planet, from which the whole foods come.
The Healthiest Foods are Readily Available Although there are many foods that are exceptionally nutritious, many of them are not readily available at all times throughout the year. Whole food is seasonal for good reason. It's the way mother nature intended. The key is to always seek out foods that are 'in-season'that are fresh and locally grown. Find and support your local farmer's markets and growers.
The Healthiest Foods are Affordable By supporting your local growers, not only will you benefit from quality, fresh produce that has not been packaged, shipped thousands of miles and stored, but it will save you money by cutting out the middle man.
Like that little cut on our finger. How miraculous. It heals itself! Sometimes though - due to our carelessness - it festers, becomes infected and begins to give us pain.
Pain is our body’s signal to us that it needs help. With a cut finger the course of action is obvious. But what about tiny, invisible wounds that we can’t see, which are happening inside our bodies all the time? What do we do when a subtle message of pain appears?
Too many of us reach for the nearest chemical ‘pain reliever’, when we could be doing something better to support our health and healing. Sadly, because most people do not trust or know how to embrace "Self-Care", there are internal wounds festering and contributing to the ill health of millions of people around the world. And the vast majority of them will become customers (and victims) of the pharmaceutical industry.
A Fact of Life
Our bodies are being damaged inside, invisible and mercilessly, by toxic chemical reactions. Toxic chemical additives and hazardous wastes in our air, water and food supplies will continue to pervade our living and working environments. These toxins are returning to us in everything we eat, drink and breathe. Thankfully much of the internal damage they do heals automatically, like that cut on our finger. However when our body is not adequately nourished it can’t neutralize and expel these poisons fast enough. They build up in our body, and so does the invisible damage they do. Toxic build up can severely damage our immune system and lead to disease.
A Fast of Health
A body that is toxic is like a cut with dirt in it. It is contaminated and may not heal properly. It needs to be cleaned and given the nutrients it needs to detoxify and rebuild and heal itself. Many of us have already recognized the fact of life and have altered our lifestyles to avoid as many chemicals as possible. Some of us have also recognized this fact of health and are being more careful about nutrients that can help our body detox – and rebuild our immune system. To "FAST" means 'to make strong' and it is so often the answer to aiding your body in the healing and repair process.
The "Doctrine of Signatures" provides many clues for healing different aspects of the human body...
Today it appears that our ancestors were right on the money when they noticed that the square of mint stems represented the lymph and immune systems. They marveled at how a 5-pointed star fruit matched the brain neurons and nerves. They noticed how the circles of citrus and a sliced carrot represented the cells, breasts and eyes. And they noticed that the equidistant cross of cruciferous (cross) foods like broccoli and cauliflower match the circulatory system, the 4-chambers of the heart and the arterial patterns that feed the head and brain. The list goes on and on.
May you contemplate upon each food from nature's table and what it represents and targets as an offering to your abode (your body/the house in which you live). Consider fasting or a 14 Day Adventure (free shipping Australia wide for a limited time) to give your house a rest from the constant burden that digestion places on your body and it's function day in day out. Above all give your body a chance to heal by discovering and embracing self-care when it needs it most.
Some people say, “I never dream” but a person who actually does not dream simply does not exist. Rapid eye motion (REM) studies show that everyone dreams, regardless of age, sex, race, and so on. To say, “I don’t dream” is actually to say, “I habitually ignore and forget my dream experiences.” All warm-blooded creatures dream regularly – REMs have been observed throughout the animal world.
Prolonged dream deprivation tends to cause severe mental disorientation and emotional upset. Apparently, if the unconscious is deprived of its normal outlets in REM sleep, it demands “its due” and causes people to hallucinate and “dream while awake.” Clearly, the dream is a natural phenomenon. It is part of and necessary for the maintenance of natural physical, mental, and emotional health and balance within the organism.
Just as there is no such thing as a person who doesn’t dream, there is also no such thing as a dream with only one meaning – all dreams have multiple meanings, much like puns or parable. At one level, all our dreams are always dreaming about the physical condition of our bodies at the moment of the dream. At yet other levels, our dreams are invariably concerned with recent memories (“day residue”), childhood and adolescent reminiscences, sexual desires and fears, religious intuitions, the complexities of emotional relationship (or the lack of it), desires for power and competence, synchronous intuitions, other subtle perceptions, and more.
Dreams always come in the service of wholeness. They come to correct imbalances in waking attitudes, emotions, habits, and behaviours, and to bring to light the energies for growth and change that have not yet reached conscious self-awareness by other means. Even when our conscious awareness is hostile to and fearful of the corrections brought by dreams, the dreams themselves will continue to bring their healing messages of wholeness, and the possibilities for increasing wholeness in waking life. Indeed, if they are thwarted by forgetfulness, inattention, or even conscious repression they will tend to take on increasingly horrific and “nightmarish” forms until you are forced to at least remember them upon awakening. In this way, nightmarish dreams will at least impress consciousness with seriousness and get past the repression that often makes us forget dreams whose message we are not ready to heed.
